Hi from TRACWRAP - Temp paint protection film
Hi. My name is Diana and I am with TRACWRAP.
I have been involved with the PPF (paint protection film..i.e.-clearbra) industry for many years now and seen the benefits first hand of proper paint protection. Until now though, there has never been an afforadable temporary solution. You either spend $500-$1000+ on a clearbra (that hopefully you get a good installer to do) or you buy 2 rolls of good ole blue painters tape. Tracwrap answers this need.
TRACWRAP is a new DIY temporary paint protection product. It is a 7-mil thick polyurethane film (same polyurethane building blocks used to make the major industry clear bra films) but with some improvements that allow it to be installed by the consumer and be easily removed after use. There are a lot of uses for this product. So far, we have seen it used at weekend track events and autocross (such as this trackday at the Celebration Car Festival at Sebring).
or cross-country trips like this owner who bought a Viper on the east coast and was driving it back to the west coast.
Here is a quick video where I am installing a hood piece on a Maserati Gransport. If I can do this then anyone can!!
Anyway, glad to finally be on 6speed and Happy Driving!!

Hi Diana, you did some Tracwrap on my 2009 red Porsche Carrera S at Sebring earlier this year.
THANKS!
The Tracwrap worked very well, not 1 single issue. I left it on for about 3 months for 4 track events and everyday driving. It went through the rain, car washings and so forth with out any peeling. When I took the wrap off the paint was clean and like new underneath. Tracwrap works! Thanks again for trying some out on my car.

I have used it on the Rossion (over 3M permanent film), the race ADR3 race car and the tow vehicle. It works well for all 3 purposes.

A few questions for those that have used this brand on the track:
1. How hard is it to install in a way that you don't end up with a lot of wrinkles that cause film stability issues?
2. How well do the edges hold? This has been an issue for other clear temp films.
3. How does rain affect it? This has been a no-go issue for other clear temp films.

it's easy to put on and avoid bubbling if you cut it into smaller pieces. suppose you could use larger sheets with at two person application (my wife thought i was nuts)
stuff works. sticks. thick. no lifting. peels right off.

Thanks.
I'd like to give this film a shot at the track... hopefully save myself some paint protection tape work.

I'm very sorry that you had a bad experience with TrakkTape. I would like very much to hear what the problem was and naturally, would be very happy to buy the TrakkTape back. I searched my records but could not seem to find your order.
While I am certain that TracWrap is an excellent product, I do feel a bit of a need to comment after Henry's disenchantment.
Our two products are two different specifications and two different prices. Do your own comparison.
So, I would say, try a roll. I have a LOT of satisfied customers. If you don't like it, I'll buy it back.

If anyone wants a large roll, 600 feet x 6" wide x 5 mil thick, use Racers Net code on the above site. Normal price of $145 will then be $120. Use 6S120.
Email me with any questions at info@trakktape.com.
And in closing, again, I have total respect for TracWrap as a company. It appears to be an excellent product. They have an extremely nice web site and what appears to be excellent distribution. I am a one man show that got into this largely to supply the Lotus community. I sought out a source for protective tape for my own car and demand at the track pushed me into my own modest distribution.
So, best of luck, TracWrap! I sincerely wish you well.
Thanks for the interest!
