Adhesive Shelf Paper for DE Car Numbers?
#3
Has anyone tried contact paper for DE event car numbers? I've done some testing on my door and hood at speeds up to 65 MPH and it stuck perfectly. It drives me mad to think of spending $40 every time I need a set of temp numbers for a track day or DE event. A roll of contact paper is enough to make quite a few numbers for cheap.
65 in the turns might be ok but what about on the straight aways??

It works. I've done it for years. Just used it at Mid-Ohio last weekend. Print the numbers on your computer and then lay them over a stack of contact shelf paper. Use an exacto knife and cut around the numbers. I've cut stacks of 6. Takes a bit of pressure so be sure to have extra blades in case you break one. If you are only doing a couple of sets it is really easy to make good cuts.
