how do you like your Touareg?

Came from a 2004 Cayenne twin turbo myself and love the 2010 Touareg TDI I now have. The mileage is great and with my Unitronic tune the power is not bad at all compared to a Cayenne. Details of my project build are posted in Club Touareg...

We have a 2012 Touareg TDI Lux. Wifey's DD. Really bought it for the bells and whitles and fuel mileage. Averaging 26-28 backroads and city. Don't do much Hwy, but we did take a trip to NC a few days after we bought it and averaged 30-32. Not a rocket ship, but we love it.

Depoending on my future work commitments...I will likely buy a Passat TDI SEL Premium soon...Most new Passat TDI owners I talk to are getting 40's city and over 50 hwy...no brainer if you rack up the miles.....

We had an older V6 and loved it minus the gas mileage. We had it for several years and replaced it with a Q7 TDI because of the mileage. A buddy of mine that has had over 50 cars has a new Toureg TDI and has put more miles on it than any other car ever if that tells you anything~

I picked up my 2014 Touareg TDI Lux at the end of October.
I have a little under 12,000 miles on her so far, averaging about 3,000 a month. That will slow down considerably over the summer when I drive other vehicles.
So far, it has been great. I came close to buying a used Cayenne, but thought the Touareg was a better value.
The TDI motor was improved for the 2013 model year to the higher-output version used in the Cayenne and Q7, among others.
So far, I average around 26-27 MPG overall. 30+ on the highway.
There have been no real issues to date. 2 oil changes and one AdBlue service thus far.
I had a tire noise issue with the 19" wheels at a particular speed, but that resolved with an alignment and the 17" winter wheels/tires. It may return when the summer wheels are re-mounted, and could eventually result in replacement of the OEM Goodyears.
