Sold 2011 CTT with Burmester, purchased 2013 Touraeg TDi with LUX
Coming from the CTT with the burmester, best audio system in any stock car I've owned to the LUX stereo the Touraeg has is sub par.
Please help.
I am not going to add speaker locations, rather just swap out every single amp, subwoofer, and speakers in the vehicle to try and improve the sound 1000%.
I want crisp clean sound at every level, much louder volume than the stock allows, deep base, and perfect mids.
Please advise. I am an audiophile, just trying to work with what I have within this car....

I can't help with the audio question, but I am more curious about the comparison of the 2 vehicles is other aspects...
Whats your take on it? PM me if you think a response will take away from your initial question.
Thanks

I don't mind comparing, a bit off topic so others please continue to respond about the subject title.
But to compare. Vs my CTT which was heavily optioned and custom built, vs the v6TDI Lux, which is very nice and all, but it's no Cayenne Turbo.
Same engine as the Cayenne diesel just modded a bit less than the stock one in the Cayenne, the single turbo does help, especially at altitude, it does pull when without it you might think it would kick down a gear.
Stereo is sub par to an audiophile maniac like myself, but it is still good. Long story short on this, but I am actually trying to get the dealership to buy back my LUX TDI, and I'll buy the Executive TDI, b/c I want the upgraded stereo, comfort access, and a few other bells that that Executive has vs my LUX.
But back to the comparison.
The interior feel is almost identical to what I remember my CTT was like. Same side to side room, same legroom, same interior feel, 2nd row, might have an inch or two more it feels for my kids, but not sure on this.
The nav is very user friendly, the camera, although looks like the identical as the Cayenne, the display doesn't seem as crisp. The pano room, is the exact, the wipers are the exact, the comfort exterior lighting under mirrors, is exact. Honestly the entire reason I purchased this car was b/c it was the closed identical match for interior feel for my kids as the cayenne. I didn't want it to be an adjustment, which I know it wouldn't have been either way, but still.
Having already driven 400 miles and only going through 1/2 a tank of diesel is pretty fantastic I must say, but it's a different vehicle, so obviously I drive it differently, this is just natural.
seats are comfortable, but they are not the cayenne sport comfort seats, those were fantastic.
Brakes feel good in the TDI, although not my ceramics, etc etc etc.
You can't really compare the two vehicles, because one was over $160K, and one was under $60K.
for the reasons the switch happened, and for what I was wanting from a car, I can't be happier about the car. I will get the stereo speakers replaced one way or the other, either swap the car for the next up, or redo the interior speakers and call it a day.
the car has a nice feel, and everyone that does say, hey that's a new car, and I tell them, they all say, I like those cars, I wish I had one. so, there ya go. most find this car to be their dream car. for me, well, it's my next 8 months car
it's not as refined as the cayenne, but again, different car. I like the car, it's a great car and i would recommend it to anyone looking for an SUV that was in this size category that didn't want to spend the $$ for a cayenne. great so far, but I've had for 5 days.
current state: I would recommend, very nice car.
