Sumitomo HTR Z III question
According to Tirerack's tests the new HTR IIIs are pretty good.

Anyone actually try these out for street, AX, DE?

Sumitomo HTR Z III? Bueller, Bueller?
Anyone tried Sumitomo HTR Z III?
TireRack ranked it really well:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...tirePageLocQty=
Price seems too good to be true...
Note the test was with a BMW 325, not exactly the same loads/stress as a Porsche.
UTQG seems high, though, and this usually translates to harder rubber... is this feasible: high wear AND high grip?
Anyone try these yet? Bueller, Bueller?

All you skeptics should strongly consider them. The Rennlist guys are buying them like crazy and so far the reviews have been VERY good among Porsche owners of all types. Don't be fooled by the price on these guys. They outperform many tires over twice the price in dry grip testing.

Give me a call if I can help.

Based on some info from TireRack, other info, and a few logic jumps, it seems the Sumitomo HRT Z III is a twin, or a better derivative, than the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx...
(Dunlop & Sumitomo share technology and have deep corporate ties.)
Anyway, it is far better rated by everyone than my current OEM Continental ContiSportContact 2.
So the TireRack tests and user reviews speak for themselves... and at half price to Pilot Sport Ribs, the price is a bonus.
Besides, you only need to wear them half out before before replacing them and ending up at the same place.
Will post an update after a bit of use.

Update: already I like the Sumitomo HTR ZIII tires.
Sidewall was surprisingly stiff off the rim.
Once installed, the turn in felt good, noise average and overall feel was decent.
Only 500 miles but feels great commuting.
Will give them a good run soon and will try to post an update.

Potenza Pole Position
ContiSports
2 sets of SportMaxx SP (the worst performance tire I've ever owned - terrible - I think it only gets decent reviews from the brand reputation)
Pilot Sports
PZero
g-force T/A KDW
I really like the Sumitomo because it's very good in the wet as well. It also rides nice and is quiet. They held up better than most as well. I think the reviews on Tirerack gets skewed a little towards the better known brands. Most of the drivers don't push their tires at all, so if they are putting down a lot of money on "the best" name then they're going to obviously rate it high and say how great they are just to make them feel better about their purchase.

If you like your PS2's and don't mind paying 1,500.00 for tires, more power to ya

Seems like others are happy too.
