The 960 isn't designed to be at the performance level of the PS2. It's replacing the RE750, which we all knew to be the "little brother" of the S-03 Pole Position. Only the RE050A Pole Position has the performance level of the PS2. PS2's are still a benchmark for performance and is a hard tire to beat.

Is the Bridgestone "RE-01" in the same catagory or is it an "R" compound tire? Likewise, what about the Michelin sport cup tires? Sorry for the novice here on tires and thanks for any knowledge and input!

Amen to this statement and to which I fully subscribe.

My 530i now yields 34 mpg with cruise control at 62 MPH. That's nearly 4 MPG better than the Bridgestones, incredibly quieter, and the handling has dramatically improved.

PS2's get my full vote.

Trying the Pilot Sport Cups on my 360 imminetly!

The new Pirelli PZero is an amazing tire... but a bit pricey. I would stick with the PS2s...

I have heard many great comments about Pirelli's but no one ever has the necessary sizes!

Novitec has commanded the entire inventory of the 355/25-19's for the NF-2 wheels, and the prices are ridiculous at $1,200+ per tire!

My vote goes to Michelin.

RE-01R's are street tires that offer great life (observed first hand) with near R compound grip levels. It's a shame they don't come in many large sizes because everyone here would be singing praises about it versus the PS2's.

Pilot Sport Cup's are R compound tires. They make tremendous amounts of noize, they wear out very very fast, and have no grip on non-dry conditions. But they are still plenty fund .

I agree the ps2 wear out fairly quickly...I got around 18-20K miles on mine. I don't agree about the noise and grip on wet surfaces. We get heavy downpours here that come out of no where. The roads are very slick when that happens. No issues from the ps2's. I drive like a maniac on the freeways and do it with confidence. As for noise, they aren't the most quiet but they never become unbearably loud like a lot of tires after racking up many miles.

I believe Mitsubishievo was talking about the Michelin Cup tires.
