Who are some other tire brands good for 20" sizing? specifically 255/35/20 and 285/30/20

We know michelin ps2's........but who else? please indicate pricing too

I'm running 245/35/20 Pirelli P Zero Neros and they are brilliant! My car holds the road well in both wet & dry, and the ride is very smooth & quiet. I highly recommend them!

 

Do you need new tires?

Worse tires I have ever had. They are coming off this week. Junk!

Came stock on my 530i and can't wait to get them off. They are very, very noisey and they have very week side walls causing the car to wander!

I'd stay with Michelin.

 

There are many types of Bridgestone tires the ones that came off you 530i are touring tires so do not expect high performance tire results..I would put Bridgestone against anyones else's tires...what comes stock on Ferrari Enzo again? As a matter of fact Bridgestone is so confident in our tires they come with a 30 day Buy and Try Guarantee, meaning when you purchase 4 tires and are not satisfied return them for a full refund. Does any other brand do that?

 

I don't care what is supplied on an Enzo. It's irrelevant to my BMW.

What is relevant is that these Bridgstone tires are awful! So who cares about a buyback guaranty? Is Bridgestone going to buy back what is on the car now?

They are being replaced today with Michelin PS2's. I have used Michelins for years w/o ever a problem. I'd never buy Bridgestones!

 

I am sorry you feel that way but hey we cant make everyone happy...competition is good, matter of fact for example take a look at the 2005 US Grand Prix .
At the end of the day I also supply Michelin tires so both ways I can get great prices for anyone on this forum.

 

What's important to me is what works for me. This was my first introduction to Bridgestones, and it was not a good one. In addition to the poor ride I can't stand the noise!

I bought a set of the Nitto Invo after reading all the proganda about how comfy, quiet and high performance they are. Poppycock! I tried that brand over 10 years ago and should have known better. Yes, they are better than the older Nitto but not nearly good enough for drivers of nice cars who care about tire performance.
They take a lot of time to heat up. Until they heat up they are loud and ride crappy...like the tire is out of round. Once heated, they improve but there are many times you're only going on a 15 minute trip and the ride is terrible. People in colder climates shouldn't even consider it. Takes 15-30 minutes to feel better in south florida. They'd be miserable up north.

I consider the PS2 to be the best tire in the world but I tried Bridgestone RE960 on a recommendation, as a cheaper but suitable alternative. They are not good as PS2 but I am happy with them. Biggest complaint is how they feel after prolonged high speed use but still not bad at all. No complaint with loudness or grip. If money is no issue, get the PS2.

 

Lets compare apples to apples here...the PS2 is a great maximum performance summer tire and the RE960 is a great ultra high all season tire...yet they do not compare to each other at all.
A comparable tire to the PS2 would be the Potenza RE050a Pole Pole Position tire...not favoring any tire just wanted to make it clear that the results you get out of the PS2's you are not going to get from the RE960's...but you will get same or better results from the RE050A.

 

What's the threadwear on the RE? Does anyone have any feedbacks on this tire?

 

Treadwear on the RE050A is 140 and the PS2 is 220..the RE050A will offer a stickier grip vs. the PS2, but the PS2 will outlast the RE050A a shade longer, the RE050A are about 400 cheaper. I would go with the RE050A, I have tested all types of tires under track conditions and at testing events and prefer the Bridgestone tires.
