Need help with BBS LM-R fitment

Hi guys,

I just got a set of 19" BBS LM-R with 15mm spacers for the rear only which was recommended, but the wheels look too tucked in. I like them to be flush with the fenders. I'm planning to move the rear 15mm spacers to the front, and get 20-25mm spacers for the rear. Any suggestion or recommendation? I've been searching the forum, but it seems like the most people use is 20mm for the rear.

thx,

Great looking wheels, but they could be pushed out a bit more. Sent you a PM with some comments/questions...

You know the offset of the wheels? they do look a little chicken leg. I would spacer's from Champion or Hnr , make sure they are hub centric.

Here is the wheel offset and i'm using 15mm H&R Trak spacers in the rear currently.

19 x 8,5 et55 (235/35/19)
19 x 11 et63 (315/25/19)

That's because BBS doesn't make the LM-Rs in a more aggressive fitment than those that you have.

You have two options:

1. Reverse Lip - Pretty hard and you can mess up your wheels in the process if you have no idea what you're doing. It looks sweet though! Might be a little TOO aggressive for you.

2. Run spacers. With those offsets, you can run 21mm H&R Hub Centric Spacers and it should be fairly flush with the fenders.

How can u run an r lip on step lip wheels ? I would love to know ? Wouldn't it change dia? Oh yeah it would

Op if you call bbs and measure your lip you might be able to buy .5 larger outer and not have to run spacers
Measure lip with tires off I'll call bbs for u it probably does exist

How do you change the diameter? It does change the width a bit though.

This is not recommended by BBS and you can royally screw up your wheels doing this if you're not careful - but there's plenty of guys that have done Reverse Lips on their LMs and LM-Rs.

Here's one - You won't see LMs come like this from the factory! :

There's a few brave souls that have done this on Porsches as well. Oh and there's a member (HighCard) selling his set in the Classifieds right now! The whole Reverse Lip is a bit hard to do and if you get it wrong - you have a leaking set of BBS wheels!

You asked what they refer to as "Reverse Lip" for the BBS wheels. When have I ever started to discuss the true designs of a true Step Lip? The original poster asked what he can do to make his BBS wheels more aggressive and I answered.

I know the difference between a step lip and a reverse lip. I carry a ton of brands that have both choices in their model lineups.

You need to read what the original poster was asking a bit better instead of trying to pick fights with vendors. He doesn't have a set of HRE wheels.....he was asking how to make his BBS more aggressive because it was too conservative.

So to you r lip bbs means a larger step lip ? Okay I'll leave it alone . Cause all you posted is a bbs lm with a larger step lip if you call that r lip. Ok

Nope....the unfortunate thing is that I agree with you on the whole design thing and I'm not sure why they call it that. But the guys that tried it first with their BBS wheels call it that and that's what we call it now. Oh....you can search Google and whole bunch of other guys call it that too!~

The original poster didn't ask for your opinion on the design though. He asked for ways to make his BBS LM-Rs more aggressive. All I did was give him two choices that my customers end up doing.

Let's try to contribute to the thread instead of flooding it with nonsense. Thank you!
