2019 Porsche 991 Turbo S Gemballa GTR 8XX Evo-R is a Mouthful
The handy work of the German tuning company isn't for everyone. But the Gemballa GTR 8XX will turn heads not just its polarizing style, but also with it's crazy power.
Gemballa
If you consider yourself a Porsche enthusiast, you'll have heard, and seen the handy work of Gemballa. Conveniently located near the home of Porsche in Stuttgart, the German tuning company has been responsible for some of the most remarkable aftermarket Porsche builds we've ever seen.
Tuned to the Max
And while the visuals of a Gemballa build are, at the very least, controversial, there is no denying the unique character that these devious monsters bring to the table, not to mention the astonishing power gains. And this 991 Porsche 911 Turbo S has been treated to Gemballa's magic touch.
Extensive Upgrades
The 2019 Turbo S belongs to Eric Wong, who wanted to take his Porsche from ordinary to Gemballa GTR 8XX Evo-R. Yes, the name is long, but so is the list of modifications that comes with the Gemballa package. The big giveaway of this Porsche's aftermarket style is the widebody kit, of course. And that's where Wong started his build.
Wide Body Kit
This 991 Turbo S is only one of fifty full conversions in the world. The complete Gemballa GTR 8XX package comes with front and rear bumpers, custom hood and engine cover, side skirts, the rear wing, diffusor, and of course, the fender flares. The company's signature design takes a more understated role in the all-black paint scheme of this Turbo S.
On the Inside
The design on the interior is not quite as aggressive as the outside. Here, you will find that the spirit of the 911 Turbo S is still very much present, with plenty of comfort to balance the sporty nature of this beast. The red and black color scheme gives the interior a nice contrasting look while inserting a hint of extra adrenaline.
The Engine
Gemballa's performance upgrades reach well into the power source. The legendary 3.8-liter flat-6 motor has been upgraded from within to produce even more power. The upgraded internals are controlled by Gemballa's remapped PCM and TCM. All told, the GTR 8XX package gives the Turbo S a massive jump in power from 580 to 818 horses.
Controversial?
The power upgrades are not visually obvious by looking under the hood. But passers-by can get a hint of it from the rowdy exhaust note. The very nature of these Gemballa builds is polarizing. Many would go as far as to say they hate it! But no one can deny that the 991 Turbo S Gemballa GTR 8XX Evo-R turns heads.
