Digital and Physical Collide

The Robb Report shared an exclusive story on Miami native Rich B. Caliente who has created a one-of-a-kind art project with the help of Grammy award-winning musician Rick Ross. Caliente, who made a career wrapping exotic cars for elite clientele, switched things up to create a unique art piece that exists in both the physical and digital world. “To me, it’s very important to have something tangible,” shares Caliente “So it’s kind of like my twist on an NFT, where you have something that’s a digital capsule, but you also have something that can be enjoyed in real life.”

First of Its Kind

Caliente's 911 marks the first time that a minted NFT (Non-Fungible Token) comes with an attached car title. Caliente noted that one inspiration was that of Janis Joplin's trippy Porsche 356; another art Porsche with an iconic reputation.

Process of Creation

Caliente had at one point considered using the Lamborghini Urus as his canvas but opted instead to use the 911's "iconic shape" to his advantage. The project, which totaled two weeks, features splatters and drips similar to that of renowned artist Jackson Pollock. While the paintwork may appear random, Caliente ensured the design was symmetrical and purposeful. Other treats include splashes of glow in the dark paint used to emulate the visuals of “oozing magma,”

Caliente left the interior as well as the mechanics unchanged aside from custom mats emblazoned with Caliete and Ross' signatures as well as Ross 2021 album title Richer Than I’ve Ever Been.
And yes, the Porsche still retains its 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine boasting 379 hp and 333 lb-ft of torque.

Miami Forever

“The whole point of this project was to inspire, but also to formulate and represent where you’re from and who you are,” Caliente states. “So this is our little piece of the world that we live in.” Bids for Caliente's hand-painted 911 start at $305,911 an homage to the Miami area code.
