Super Limited

Super limited-edition Lamborghinis are nothing new, of course. But the brand new SC20 takes exclusivity to the max, following the Centro Stile as a one-off creation for a super lucky customer. The result of that collaboration between buyer and automaker is quite the stunning roadster hypercar that was designed to be driven, not just looked at.

Main Inspirations

The goal of the SC20 was to build a unique vehicle that is also extreme in every regard, combining the aerodynamics learned through Lamborghini's racing efforts with exclusive lines and details. "Two years after the SC18 Alston, the SC20 was a new, intriguing challenge. The chief sources of inspiration were the Diablo VT Roadster, Aventador J, Veneno Roadster, and Concept S, and the result is a dramatic combination of creativity and racing attitude,” said Mitja Borkert, Lamborghini Head of Design Lamborghini Centro Stile.

Bespoke Bodywork

The carbon fiber body was polished by hand by Lamborghini aerodynamic engineers to deliver optimal airflow for performance purposes and comfortable open-air driving at high speeds. The large front splitter is framed by two fins, and the air intakes on the front hood are inspired by those of the Huracán GT3 EVO, while the sculpted body sides reflect the Essenza SCV12. In the rear, the SC20 features a large carbon fiber wing that can be set to three different positions: Low, Medium, and High Load.

Finishing Touches

The body of the SC20 is finished in a custom hue dubbed Bianco Fu, with Blu Cepheus livery. The same shade is found in the interior, alternating with Nero Cosmus and Bianco Leda. Inside the cabin, visible carbon fiber is used on the dashboard cover, rear wall, door panels, center console, and steering wheel trim. Carbon fiber is also used for the shells of the seats, which are upholstered in Alcantara and leather. The door handles, on the other hand, are machined from solid aluminum. Lastly, the air vents were created using 3D printing technology at the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory.

Family Powerplant

The SC20 is powered by a version of Lamborghini's flagship V12 - a naturally-aspirated unit that delivers 750 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 531 pound-feet of torque at 6,750 rpm. That mill sends power back through a seven-speed Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) gearbox to a four-wheel-drive system with a central electronic differential. The SC20 rolls on Pirelli PZero Corsa tires, which are wrapped around single-nut aluminum wheels measuring in at 20 inches up front and 21 inches in the rear.

Lamborghini DNA

"The SC20 is a combination of sophisticated engineering, Italian craftsmanship, sportiness, and advanced design," said Maurizio Reggiani, Chief Technical Officer of Automobili Lamborghini. "It is also an example of applying our V12 engine and carbon fiber to a radical open-top vehicle that unmistakably carries the Lamborghini DNA."

Price, No Object

Since the SC20 is a one-off creation, the automaker didn't bother to disclose how much this screaming roadster cost. But considering the close collaboration involved in building it and the car's many bespoke features, we'd bet it was pretty considerable. But then again, can you really put a price on being able to say you own a true one-of-one Lamborghini?
